Jestem kompletnie nowy w Manjaro.
Wcześniej używałem ubuntu.
Mam drukarkę Brother Hl-1112e i nie potrafię zainstalować do niej sterowników.
Na stronie producenta są pliki rpm oraz deb.
jak z nich w Manjaro zainstalować sterowniki ?
Drukarka jest mi potrzebna do pracy.
Dodatkowo mam skaner Mustek 1200UB który w Manjaro także nie działa…

Wiem że powinienem sam się uczyć - ale sprzętu potrzebuje dosłownie na JUŻ niestety…
@Anakin9 sterowniki instalujesz poleceniem w konsoli, króre ci podał @UltherEgo. Potem w zależności od używanego środowiska graficznego wybierasz program do skanowania. Jeśli korzystasz z KDE to już powinieneś mieć w systemie Skanlite, jeśli z Gnome to Simple Scan. W innych środowiskach może być różnie, być może trzeba będzie doinstalować odpowiedni program (od tego w Manjaro jest Pamac – szukasz i instalujesz co cię interesuje). Jeśli już masz zainstalowane sterowniki to po prostu uruchom program do skanowania, on już powinien poprowadzić cię za rączkę.
Wyrzuca mi błąd
Błąd: cel nie został znaleziony: brother-hl-1112
Faktycznie, wyrzuca błąd, bo pakiet pochodzi z AUR. Poprawnie powinno być:
pamac build brother-hl-1112
Hmm Domyślam się że podczas instalacji mam nie edytować plików budowania.
Zainstalowałem sterowniki.
Następnie dodałem drukarkę do systemu.
Niby widzi ją ale podczas próby wydruku wyskakuję błąd.
Jaki błąd? Pokaż komunikat.
Filter Failed
Pokaż zawartość pliku /var/log/cups/error_log – być może wtedy będę w stanie coś więcej powiedzieć.

Problem nr 1 rozwiązany 
Teraz cyrk ze skanerem.
Mustek 1200UB
Na starym laptopie ( Samsung ) na Lubuntu 19.10 po podłączeniu działał jak złoto.
Zmieniłem sprzęt na Lenovo . Zainstalowałem także Lubuntu 19.10 - po podłączeniu za cholerę nie widzi skanera.
To samo dzieje się tutaj w Manjaro.
Na windowsie skaner działa więc jest sprawny.
Jak to rozwiązać ?
Miałem zasugerować to samo rozwiązanie, ale widzę, że znalazłeś przede mną 
Co do skanera to sprawdźmy najpierw czy system w ogóle go wykrywa. W wynikach każdego z tych poleceń obok innych podłączonych urządzeń powinien się pojawić twój skaner:
lsusb
sane-find-scanner
scanimage -L
EDIT: Chociaż już przewiduję, że rozwiązanie będzie na bazie tego. Czyli, idziesz do pliku /etc/sane.d/gt68xx.conf znajdujesz linię #override "mustek-scanexpress-1200-ub-plus" i ją odkomentowujesz.
Nie widzi skanera.
W ostatnim poleceniu jako skaner widzi kamere w laptopie.

Prawdopodobnie nie widzi twojego skanera, bo ma wyłączoną obsługę przez USB. Sprawdź plik, który podałem ci wyżej i jeśli znajdziesz, to usuń # z podanej linii. Powinno zadziałać.
Niestety nadal nie widzi skanera.

Kilka uwag natury technicznej:
Co do problemu, to skoro jest insufficient permissions, to być może Twojego user’a nie ma w stosownej grupie. Nie pamiętam polecenia, które listuje grupy, do których dany użytkownik należy, ale:
/etc/group i sprawdź, czy jesteś w grupie scanner;$ cat /etc/group | grep 'scanner'
Być może trzeba zrestartować odpowiednią usługę odpowiedzialną za USB/drukarki, żeby system zauważył wprowadzone zmiany. Ale wydaje mi się, że prościej będzie po prostu zrestartować komputer. Jeśli nadal nie zadziała to prawdopodobnie jest tak jak pisze @azja
Po wykonaniu komendy otrzymuje taki komunikat

Czy komunikaty (Access denied itd.), są takie same, jak przedtem?
